Is There Really a Permanent Cure for Acne?

Tens of thousands of people search the internet each and every day looking for a cure for acne. The big question is whether one actually exists or not. There are people all around the world who claim to have cured their acne but what is actually the truth?

It is estimated that millions of people all over the world suffer with acne; in fact 60 million people in America suffer with acne alone. Out of this number 20 million of them will have acne so severe that they will leave scars.

With alarming facts like these is it actually possible for an acne cure to exist. My answer to this is simply, yes. It is just that not many people actually find what they are looking for when searching the internet for this solution.

There are a number of things that can be done to cure acne but before I go into them I have to give you a word or warning. First of all before attempting to treat acne yourself you really should visit your doctor or dermatologist, they are the professionals and as such can give you solid medical advice.

The second piece of advice I have to give is that you have to remember that what works for you will not necessarily work for someone else. For example if a certain cream or home remedy is tried by someone and it works for them it may not for you. As we are humans and therefore unique you will have to experiment and try a few things before finding the one acne cure that works for you.

There are two main home remedies that can be used to completely cure acne. These are the Acne No More program and the Overnight Acne Cures program.

The Acne No More program has successfully treated over 140 thousand people, all of which have reported excellent results by following the remedies in the comfort of their own homes. This is a favoured way for people looking to treat their acne themselves as they can easily do so in the privacy of their own home.

The second home remedy is Overnight Acne Cures. This is another step by step guide which claims to have over 1 million people who have followed their guide to become acne free. The best part about this program is that it guarantees to ease anyone's acne in only 24 hours. This is a revolutionary program which uses natural and hollistical remedies.

Can Grape Seed Extract Eliminate Acne?

There is no dearth for acne treatment products, be it herbal, home-made, over-the-counter or prescription-based. The trick lies in finding the right weapon from your arsenal of acne products to knock out acne altogether. As the intensity of acne varies from person to person, you must endeavor to find a remedy that your skin will respond to. That said, the best approach is to seek natural acne treatment methods as they are safe and straightforward. In other words, you're sure to identify the right solution if you give your best try. Drawing on this, let's see how grape seed extract can help your skin.

Did you know that all parts of the grape - skin, leaves, vines, juice and seed - have been used for their medicinal properties over the past several millennia? Its health benefits relate to internal functions as well as externally visible results, i.e. youthful skin. These health benefits are attributed to its rich enzyme content. Active nutrients called Oligomeric proanthocyanidins are responsible for its antioxidant and antihistamine characteristics. Further, grape seed contains falvonoids, essential fatty acids and vitamins that contribute to skin health. Your skin health obviously depends on the internal functions in your body. Grape seed's essential fatty acid namely, linolenic acid preserves collagen, the structural skin protein that prevents sagging, meaning that it slows aging. So, you can bid adieu to aging signs like wrinkles and dark spots! Its flavonoids prevent skin problems by impeding allergic reactions. Its antioxidant nutrients neutralize harmful free radicals and promote cell health.

So, it's clear that grape seed extract is packed with nutrients that are essential for natural clear skin. But, how exactly does it fight acne? Its antihistamine prevents inflammation, a condition that best favors acne breakouts. Besides, the collagen-protecting linolenic acid is also an emollient, i.e. it fills the gap between skin cells, thereby providing a firmer complexion that deters acne. Grape seed oil is not viscous and hence, it easily penetrates the skin. And, it is not aromatic, meaning that it does not irritate your skin. It works well in removing makeup by dissolving the ingredients that would otherwise clog your pores. Experts believe that its alkalizing effect helps kill bacteria, viruses and other microbes.

What's more, you can use the oil for cooking. Manufacturers also sell flavored grape seed oils that can add both health and taste to your food. In addition to fighting inflammation and preventing cell damage, it improves circulation and reduces bad cholesterol. Today, grape seed extract is an active ingredient in many skin care products, such as lotions, massage oils, cleansers and soaps. You can easily find both commercial brands and organic products containing grape seed extract. Grape seed supplements are sold in syrup form or as capsules. You may consult with your doctor or dermatologist to make sure that you take the right dose.
In a nutshell, grape seed extract has anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anti-allergic and anti-aging properties. Therefore, you may safely assume that it is one of the best herbal remedies for acne that contributes to a youthful appearance both externally and internally.

What Is Acne and What Causes Acne?

Acne is a skin condition that occurs when hair follicles of the skin become clogged with oil, resulting in pimples. Acne is usually found on the face, back and chest. Acne usually begins around puberty, and worsens during the teenage years. The hair follicles are connected to sebaceous glands, which secrete an oily substance that is known as sebum. Sebum is used to lubricate the hair and the skin. When the body produces excess amounts of sebum, usually during puberty and adolescence, the hair follicles become clogged, which causes inflammation of the skin and can cause acne. The face, neck, chest, back, shoulders, and arms have the sebaceous glands, which is why acne is the most common in these areas. Lets take a look at what plays a significant role in causing acne:

1) Diet: For years, scientists have claimed that acne and diet are not related to each other. However, recently there is evidence that says that diet can play a role in acne. New studies show that foods with a high glycemic index cause acne. These foods include; cakes, cookies, sodas, breads, etc. Eating these foods causes the body to release a hormone known as insulin to regulate that blood sugar. Once the blood sugar then drops, the body releases another hormone to raise the blood sugar back to the normal level. Some scientists say that all the extra hormone production can be the cause of acne. Dairy products are also said to produce acne, due to the hormones in the milk. To sum this up, diet does play a role in acne. To control acne, eat a low amount of sugars and greasy foods, and eat as many fruits and vegetables as possible.

2) Puberty: During puberty, the sebaceous glands produce more sebum. Sebum is an oil that moisturizers the hair and skin. The excess sebum combines with dead skin cells and clogs up the pores, resulting in acne breakouts. This is also true with women who are on their period or are pregnant. The sebaceous glands will continue to produce excessive sebum until around the age of 20. To control acne, teenagers should promote good hygiene and wash their face at least twice a day.

3) Stress: Many overlook how big of a factor stress plays in the cause of acne. When stressed, stress hormones raise testosterone levels, causing production of oil and causing breakouts. I remember when I came home from college after finals week. The first thing my Mom said to me was "Oh my God, your face looks horrible!" To control acne, try to remain calm, be sure to relax, and get enough sleep daily.

4) Hygiene: Showering and washing your face are the best ways to control acne. Dead skin cells, dirt, and bacteria all accumulate on your skin and cause acne. Also, keep your hands away from your face! To control acne, wash your face at least twice a day and promote good hygiene.
