This is probably one of the last things you would thing would cause acne, yet pillow cases can cause acne. Every night you sleep, a combination of dirt, bacteria, and dead skin cells on your pillow case is pressed up against your face, causing your pores to become clogged and pimples to be formed. Cause of Acne:
You can do everything to prevent acne. You can wash your face twice a day, use toner and spot treatment, and eat healthy, but yet you still have acne forming. When you sleep, your body releases toxins and oils, which rub on the pillow and cause acne for days to come! If you notice that one side of your face has more acne breakouts then the other, that is generally a very strong side that the pillow case is the cause of your acne. This usually means that you are sleeping on your side, and the pillow is pressing up against the side of your face, causing acne to form. Also, longer hair, especially if you go without washing it one or days, can also help contribute to your acne. When you lay down at night, all the grease and oils from the hair go onto the pillowcase. Hair is extremely oily, and if you don't wash it, the oils will cause acne to form.
Treatment:
The treatment is extremely easy. Just wash your pillow case at least twice a week. This will minimize the amount of dirt and bacteria accumulating on your pillow case. To really tackle this problem, you can even buy a number of different pillow cases and change them each day. You may think this is a little over dramatic, but this method will ensure that you have clean pillow cases that will not contribute to your acne. By doing this, you will be able to tell if your pillow case is the cause of acne. Also, try to wash your hair daily, and if you are unable to, try to put your hair into a ponytail to keep it away from your face and off your pillow. You may think that this is just a small step to the problem, but combine these small steps with the other small steps and you will be able to control acne for good.
By following these methods, you can control your acne in no-time!
